New York Lawyer Ad Restrictions Unconstitutional

I meant to post something on this earlier in the week...

The New York Law Journal reported, in the article N.Y. Federal Judge Strikes Down Many New Attorney Ad Rules, that [a] federal judge has ruled unconstitutional most of the sweeping new restrictions on attorney advertising introduced earlier this year by the New York courts.

Kevin O'Keefe at LexBlog ( New York lawyer advertising rules declared unconstitutional )and Eric Turkewitz at New York Personal Injury Law Blog ( NY Advertising Rules Found Unconstitutional By Federal Judge ) have both stayed abreast of this issue.  You may want to visit the links above or subscribe to their posts if you want to be first in line for the latest information (indeed, judging from the dates and times involved, I think they or other members of the blawgosphere may have broke this news).   There are likely others I have overlooked as well you can find via a blawg search or from the links both Kevin and Eric provide in their posts.

I've also been following these rules since they were first proposed. My coverage can be found here: http://nylawblog.typepad.com/suigeneris/ny_lawyer_advertising_rules/index.html 7/25/2007 6:43 PM | blackesq.com
