Some Stats and Thoughts on Legal Marketers

Larry Bodine called out some interesting bullet points from a recent BTI Consulting Group study on Law Firm Marketing.  In his post, How Much to Spend on Marketing, Mr. Bodine highlighted staffing ratios, salaries and budgets.

Interestingly enough, Kevin O'Keefe at Lexblog also focused on legal marketers in a post yesterday,Why are legal marketing professionals treated so poorly?

The post was inspired by another post on legal marketing at Thom Singer's SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED, entitled More on Law Firm Marketing:

Yes, it is true, there are disconnects between lawyers, accountants, consultants and those who run the marketing departments inside those firms. Many firms look at the marketers as "cost centers", and see them as less important than the professionals who make up the rank and file of the firm.

But the reality is that the top marketing professionals in these firms are valuable assets. To treat them without respect will make them vulnerable to being lured away by the competition.

Mr. Singer references Mr. Bodine in his post, and the network effect of the blawgosphere continues...
