If the record attendance and vendor participation at last week's
International Legal Technology Association's (ILTA) Annual Conference was any indication, we are in the midst of a new boom for legal technology. While the long-standing legal tech providers were there in force as usual, I was particularly surprised by the number of small companies who have come online in the last couple of years with new products and solutions, many of which looked really useful and innovative.
Along the way, I had to chance to meet blawger Dennis Kennedy, who I am sure will be providing detailed reports about what he learned and saw at ILTA Conference in the coming days and weeks. I had also hoped to meet blawger Monica Bay, but our schedules seemed to be at exact odds, so that will have to wait for another day. In general, I did not hear a lot of specifics with regard to blawgs, RSS and information-sharing via syndication technologies, but the topics were mentioned and something tells me next year's Conference will offer more on the subjects.
Anyway, as a brief unsolicited commercial, ILTA is a great peer group for anyone interested legal technology. It offers myriad ways to connect and learn about the latest products, trends and ideas in legal. You can find out more at its website.
