As would be expected, the blawgosphere is a abuzz with commentary and information regarding the U.S. Supreme Court Nomination process (Reuters, in fact, recently published this
article on the role of weblogs in this process). Goldstein & Howe, the law firm which has long maintained the stellar Supreme Court blawg
SCOTUSblog, even has a dedicated blawg entitled,
The Supreme Court Nomination Blog.
While not exclusively blawging on the subject, a number of other blawgers have also been covering the subject in myriad blawgs across the 'sphere. Here is a sampling: Professor Bainbridge - Between Lawyers - American Constitution Society Blog - Judging the Future.net.
If you are true news junkie, you can also check the Washington Post's Possible Replacement List, the always-on Google News and Yahoo! News, for more information.
Finally, if what the mainstream media is suggesting plays out, expect the blawgosphere to really be humming once President Bush announces his nominee. Every past opinion, speech or writing from the nominee can, and perhaps will, be analyzed, pro and con, by blawgers worldwide.
For better or worse, the blawgosphere didn't exist for past nomination processes. But, with an aging Supreme Court and diverse opinions as to suitable replacements, don't expect the "nomination buzz" to disappear any time soon.
