Want to travel the country, expenses paid, in a souped up SUV decked out in all of the latest and greatest electronics? Or maybe you just always wanted to write a book along the lines of Kerouac's "On the Road" or Steinbeck's "Travels with Charley." If you answered yes to either question, Amazon's A9 may have just the job for you: "
Block View Driver."
According to the job description, "you will drive a specially equipped vehicle with GPS, a digital camera, and computer hardware/software to collect geo-referenced imagery." The job also "entails long periods of 100% travel in cities throughout the United States." I know it's a serious job helping Amazon build up its new < a href="http://www.a9.com/optical?a=oyp" target="_blank">optical search database, but really now, how great a job is that? Just driving around, shooting video and talking to the locals. If I was college senior today, my application would be in the [e]mail.
If interested, just hit the link above. I'll be looking for your travel narrative in 2006...
