I get a good number of e-mails in which people ask where to start looking at blawgs. That is, which category in the directory offers a good representation of what active blawgers can offer?
The short answer is that there are clearly any number of "categories" which are solid jump off points into the blawgosphere. But, in culling some of the dead wood from the blawg directory last weekend, I revisited the "KM and Research" category and wow, was I impressed. Not only do the majority of the blawgs in this category actively post information, the information they post is really useful. If you are interested in legal research or knowledge management, subscribing to any number of headline feeds from this group of blawgers will keep you up-to-date with all of the latest news and resources coming on- and off-line.
As I mentioned at the outset, there are many other similarly impressive blawgs out there (and I try and feature as many of them as I can), but if you are just getting started and are looking for a taste of the blawg concept, you won't go wrong by diving into Research and KM.
