Six Apart, the company behind the
TypePad blogging service and the
Moveable Type blogging software, today acquired Danga Interactive, which is behind the
Live Journal blogging service/software.
The press release also suggests that Six Apart and Google (with its Blogger software/service) now remain the only two major players in the blogging space.
Also of interest, Six Apart is asserting that the combined companies now have 6.5 million blogs in production.
