MSN Spaces, Microsoft's new foray into weblogs, went live as a beta product last night. Clean design and the price is right (free), but I have not had a chance to give it much of a test yet.
Kevin over at LexBlog has taken a more in depth look already and gives a brief review, suggesting MSN Spaces is not a good fit for a lawyer's blawg.
The question in my mind is how will Microsoft integrate weblogs and feed readers into the Office Suite? With its near monopoly on the desktop, I can't imagine its long-term plans don't include some level of integration from Outlook and Word at the very least. It MSN wants to grow in the weblog space, reaching users at their desktop certainly makes sense. Step number one might be simply acquiring Outlook-friendly Newsgator, which just finalized its second round of venture capital financing, and seems to be growing steadily.
