In another sign that Really Simple Syndication (RSS) standards for rapidly sharing content (blawg and otherwise) worldwide, continues to gain steam, Yahoo! has just posted new job descriptions [
example] for software engineers to work on "development and evolution of [a] content aggregation platform." Experience with RSS is a plus.
Blogger (and Yahoo! employee) Jeremy Zwadony describes the job expectations a little more casually, while reiterating his oft-stated comment that Yahoo! is "serious about RSS."
With big internet companies like Yahoo! showing a willingness to finance development further enhancements to the content syndication and aggregation technologies already in place, I expect to see a continuing shift in the how, when and where of information dissemination. The blawgosphere may never be the same...
