Yahoo! hiring for RSS

In another sign that Really Simple Syndication (RSS) standards for rapidly sharing content (blawg and otherwise) worldwide, continues to gain steam, Yahoo! has just posted new job descriptions [example] for software engineers to work on "development and evolution of [a] content aggregation platform." Experience with RSS is a plus.

Blogger (and Yahoo! employee) Jeremy Zwadony describes the job expectations a little more casually, while reiterating his oft-stated comment that Yahoo! is "serious about RSS."

With big internet companies like Yahoo! showing a willingness to finance development further enhancements to the content syndication and aggregation technologies already in place, I expect to see a continuing shift in the how, when and where of information dissemination. The blawgosphere may never be the same...
