In a sign of its growing acceptance,
West is now leveraging Really Simple Syndication (RSS) functionality within its IntraClip service, a plug-in component for legal intranets and portals.
Of particular interest (and wasn't this inevitable?), West is also leveraging content from Westlaw databases and Reporters (Andrews Litigation Reports was noted in specific) into RSS streams. By opening up these databases via RSS feeds to which intranets/portals can quickly subscribe via an IntraClip, intranet or knowledge management administrators can easily pull together disparate information sources into a single web page.
Pulling together the information has always been possible, but not necessarily as easily as just cutting and pasting RSS links into a feed reader-type application. And, isn't this one of the promises of RSS: simplicity?
If you want to find out more, here is the link: West IntraClip (Note that you have to be a Westlaw subscriber to get access).
