Microsoft has apparently had to "turn off" its full text RSS feeds for its developer network,
MSDN. According to one Microsoft blogger, Robert Scoble, "It's [RSS] not scalable when 10s of thousands of people start subscribing to thousands of separate RSS feeds and start pulling down those feeds every few minutes...(

There is certainly no reason for hysteria (not many RSS feeds face this level of traffic), but it does point to some interesting issues that the development community is going to face as syndication feeds continue to gain steam.
