I noted with interest this morning that Dennis Crouch's Intellectual Property blawg,
Patently Obvious, has been added to
Google News as a source.
As an example of what I mean by this, click this link to execute a simple search for "Koito Manufacturing," and you will see the Google News result set with Patently Obvious noted as the top source.
GoogleNews adding well written and regularly updated blawgs to its source list certainly makes good sense. A number of the big media sites seem to rehash the same wire report over and over again. Providing its users the opportunity to read lesser known, but equally well-versed, authors may help GoogleNews differentiate itself from its competition. Moreover, GoogleNews exposure certainly can do nothing but help blawg authors grow their audience and opportunity. Here's to hoping this is just the beginning...
