By web communication standards, this bit of information is a almost ancient history, but I thought it worth noting another instance of a trial blawg that has been live this Summer. Specifically,
Justice for Lynne Stewart!, which offered regular updates from "[t]he trial of Lynne Stewart, a defense attorney charged with providing aid and material support to a terrorist group [
source link]." The blawg offers commentary and insight into various days' events, apparently from individuals who spent the day in the courtroom. According to
Lynne Stewart .org, Ms. Stewart's trial will resume August 16, 2004, at which time I expect her trial blawg to be updated again.
Given that a person can create and post to a blawg at no cost, with little technical expertise and in a matter of minutes, it seems likely that in time this type of site will be much more commonplace. Especially, if one side of the case feels that it is losing the public relations battle going on outside the courtroom and wants to get its message out.
