There seems to be a continuing stream of new mobile devices geared to promote and support
Moblogs. Samsung and Sprint are even releasing a
video camera phone along with promises of a lot more to come.
So what, you say? Well, here is what I find intriguing. Over the past year, I have seen more and more normally technology-averse lawyers pick up--and become quickly addicted to--the Blackberry handheld. Their addiction is largely based on the perception that the handhelds greatly enhance their efficiency and allow them to conduct business from just about anywhere. And, while most are simply email users, there is a growing number trying the voice/data combination.
Next, we should (very soon) see the emergence of wireless broadband in most major cities, meaning transfer of larger files to-and-from handhelds/cellphones will become much more efficient and realistic. Certainly, this can only enhance the efficiency and mobility of handheld-bearing attorneys.
My point? Mobile Blawg, Moblawg... hmmm. Just as there are companies brainstorming moblog applications, I have to wonder if applications combining the positives of blawgs and lawyer mobility are just around the corner? All it takes is a good idea.
