Ernest Miller, a fellow at Yale Law School and author of
The Importance Of... blawg, offers today an extremely detailed analysis of yesterday's decision by the
Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to announce "a new doctrine of fining 'profane' broadcasts." The blawg entry entitled, "
FCC Revives Notion of the Profane," is already making waves throughout the blogosphere.
It is an interesting read in which Mr. Miller looks at specific broadcasts in the context of existing laws and regulations, as well as quotes from the major players involved in yesterday's decision. For me, it was nice to read something with a little meat behind the analysis rather than the usual 'who can yell loudest' approach we see from too many talking heads.
