To be sure, the number of articles gushing about the possibilities of weblogs in the business world greatly outnumber the naysayers. However, some very credible points can be found in the argument that the business (and legal?) world will not necessarily embrace weblogs as a way to communicate with customers and outside world in general.
A recent commentary on this very subject from Neil McIntosh published in the Guardian Online is getting power-linked across the web. Mr. McIntosh is clearly not against the idea or value of weblogs, but he does make some good points as to the hows and why of weblogs from a corporate perspective. And, from a legal perspective, if you were a lawyer advising a corporate client on the potential legalities and liabilities inherent in a corporate weblog, what would your advice be?
