On July 15th, ownership of the Really Simple Syndication (RSS) 2.0 specification was officially transferred to the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard Law School from Userland Software. The RSS specification is an emerging standard which allows for easy content syndication from all manner of sources, including weblogs.
RSS 2.0 will be now be covered under a Creative Commons Attribution/Share Alike license. The transfer is also interesting in that it moves control over the specification to a non-profit entity rather than a corporate interest.
