MoBlogs. I caught up with this concept a bit over the weekend. If you haven't read about MoBlogs,(short for Mobile Blogging), yet, get ready for the hype to begin.
TextAmerica already has online a moblogging service. The basic idea is that a moblogger takes a picture with his/her camera phone, and then instantly uploads it direct to their moblog site. What I also found incredible was that the moblog sites also offer rss feeds. Therefore, I was able to consume and view a moblog feed in Outlook, complete with the photograph that the moblogger just uploaded. Talk about instant publishing!
Is there a faster, cheaper, or more efficient manner to share photographs worldwide? If there is, I have not run across it.
At present, most of the moblogger sites seem to be focused on things like pictures of their pets and friends. But I can already imagine the myriad uses that the moblogging technology will be put to use. It doesn't take a lot of deep thought to reach the conclusion that ultimately, there will many and significant security and legal questions that arise out of this technology. Now, if only I could upload and disseminate my video cam feeds real-time...
