MoBlogs Revisited

MoBlogs. I caught up with this concept a bit over the weekend. If you haven't read about MoBlogs,(short for Mobile Blogging), yet, get ready for the hype to begin.

TextAmerica already has online a moblogging service. The basic idea is that a moblogger takes a picture with his/her camera phone, and then instantly uploads it direct to their moblog site. What I also found incredible was that the moblog sites also offer rss feeds. Therefore, I was able to consume and view a moblog feed in Outlook, complete with the photograph that the moblogger just uploaded. Talk about instant publishing!

At present, most of the moblogger sites seem to be focused on things like pictures of their pets and friends. But I can already imagine the myriad uses that the moblogging technology will be put to use. It doesn't take a lot of deep thought to reach the conclusion that ultimately, there will many and significant security and legal questions that arise out of this technology. Now, if only I could upload and disseminate my video cam feeds real-time...
